The Voice of the Slide Guitar

The voice of the slide tone can be compared with the tone of the human voice. Since there are no frets involved on your slide instrument, the bends and types of vibrato options seem limitless.

However, keep in mind that we do play in a certain key most of the times. Therefor you need to know your scales on the instrument, as well as your chord phrasings.

Slide and lapsteel guitar

We’ll discuss open chord playing as well as using the slide in regular guitar tunings on both slide and lapsteel guitar.
