About 3 important pillars in guitar solo’s
Clinics
Triple T
Tone
Without tone, the note you play on the guitar will not get through in your solo.
It’s important to work on your own ‘tone of voice’ so to speak. This becomes a very big part of your own musical signature.
Timing
Another important T stands for timing. To quote Duke Ellington:
‘It don’t mean a thing if it ain’t got that swing’. In other words, Timing is everything! Without proper timing your chosen notes might get lost.
Taste
With ‘taste’ I mean the way you are going to ‘phrase’ your melodies, as if you’re telling a story. In fact, that is what you actually do when you start improvising.
